Freddie White - the maestro of quality music
Freddie White is synonymous with high-quality music and has been a fixture in Ireland's live music scene since the 1970s. Born in Cobh, Co. Cork, he began playing professionally at 17 and developed his unique style in London. His early recordings, re-released in 2004, remain popular.
White co-founded ‘Scullion’ in 1974 and later formed ‘The Fake’ and The Freddie White Band, touring with Eric Clapton. His debut album, Live on Tour, recorded with Clannad, gained national attention, followed by the successful Do You Do in 1981.
He released Long Distance Runner in 1985, featuring hits like ‘Frozen Heart’. His 1994 album, Straight Up, was a live collection. My Country (1999) was co-produced with Declan Sinnott, and Lost and Found (2002) re-mastered his early works.
