About The Event

Dr Niall Gilmartin from Trinity College Dublin has been conducting research into forced displacement during ‘the troubles’. He will share some of his initial findings and discuss these with the other panellists; including Prof Peter Shirlow, Dr Adrian Grant, Gregory Campbell MP and Councillor Eamon McCann.

Professor Peter Shirlow, is the Director of the University of Liverpool’s Irish Studies and is Deputy Director of the Institute for Conflict Transformation and Social Justice at Queens University Belfast; he was involved in the Population Change and Social Inclusion Study Derry/Londonderry in 2005 and has written extensively regarding the conflict in Northern Ireland. Dr Adrian Grant from Ulster University is currently conducting research into the social impact of regeneration and displacement in Londonderry. Gregory Campbell MP and Councillor Eamon McCann were both young men when the troubles began and both are renowned for being outspoken political activists.
