Bridge by Dorone Paris
Art has the power to create a united, empathetic and considerate community; acting as a bridge between differing perspectives and communities. This interactive art installation will encourage 12-18 year olds to listen to the testimonies of some of those who lived through the troubles and encourage them to create temporary graffiti which acknowledges the importance of respecting others and the need to nurture peace.
The installation will be sited in Kennedy Place (outside New Gate Arts & Culture Centre) and anyone wishing to participate is encouraged to attend between 4pm and 7pm on the following dates: Wednesday 21st October 2020, Thursday 22nd October 2020 and Friday 23rd October 2020.
Dr Dorone Paris is an Israeli-born contemporary composer and a professional saxophone player, living & working in Ireland.

She is also the co-founder of Art Equality; a non-profit organisation and an activist movement for equality and feminism that offers support to artists whose work concerns gender equality.
Her music has been performed by groups such as Opera North, London New Wind Festival ensemble, LS2 ensemble, The New Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Meitar Ensemble, in venues such as London's Regent Hall, Leeds Grand Theatre, Mahmoud Darwish Cultural Centre, Madina Theatre, Rappaport Centre Israel, The Word's Voice Festival, Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival, The Israeli Music Festival and others, throughout the UK, Ireland, Tunisia, Netherlands, Germany, Serbia, Bosnia, Israel and Palestine.
